"Shields Up, Mr. Sulu!": Simple Protection from Bad Vibes

Today, I want to teach you a simple technique to help you protect yourself from other people’s bad vibes.

Imagine that people are like two-way radios. We are constantly broadcasting our thoughts and feelings, as well as receiving the thoughts and feelings of other people.

You have already experienced this in your life. For example, maybe you went into an office that is run poorly, and the people are mean and grumpy. When you came out of there,  you felt yucky.

Or, in the opposite way, maybe you met a person who was bright and effervescent, and you felt good afterwards. In both situations you felt the vibes of the other people.

These vibes can affect us in many ways. You really don’t want to be picking up other people’s bad juju.

The technique I'm going to teach you today is called Shields up, Mr. Sulu!

The Starship Enterprise with its protective shield. You have one like this, too.

The Starship Enterprise with its protective shield. You have one like this, too.

Have you ever seen Star Trek?  Whenever the Starship Enterprise is about to go into battle, Capt. Kirk shouts out to the helmsman: “Shields up, Mr. Sulu!” Then Mr. Sulu turns on the a force field around the ship that is an energetic armor.  Now, the ship is protected from the enemy’s weapons.

I want you to do the same thing. Before you leave the house for the day, or go into a crowded place, or enter a room with yucky people, do this: take a deep breath, and say to yourself “Shield’s Up, Mr. Sulu!” Then imagine golden ball of energy around your body.  This is your own personal firewall.

And that’s it.  Now, other people’s bad vibes just bounce off of your armor and fall to the floor.

Think about this like personal hygiene -- like the way you brush and floss your teeth everyday, or wash your hands before a meal. Make it a habit and you will be healthier.

Try it for a week and see if you feel any better.

I hope that this has been helpful.
